Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions at Ludlow Castle
Civil Ceremony
There is a choice of two rooms licensed within Castle House, Ludlow, Shopshire in which a civil marriage can be performed. These rooms can be hired for a two-hour period between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The ceremony needs to be booked with the local Superintendent Registrar, who's current charges are from £265.00 for performing the marriage ceremony. Room tariff includes the use of the gardens for photographs and access on the day of the ceremony for floral decoration etc. The facility for civil ceremonies, without a reception held on the premises, is limited to weekdays. Some Saturdays may be available for a Civil Ceremony only - please enquire. There is a premium tariff for Saturdays (see below) and only Saturdays up to 3 months ahead from the enquiry date will be considered.
The Beacon Room and the Library in Castle House are licensed for marriages under the 1949 Act.
Wedding Reception Only
A moderate sized wedding with 60 guests, for a seated wedding breakfast, can be accommodated using the suite of wedding rooms within Castle House. This includes a Reception Foyer in which to receive your guests, use of the garden and the Beacon Room, a magnificent banqueting room. The facility fee is £3100.00 and the hire period runs from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
When guest numbers are between 60 and 100 you may opt for a standing buffet-style reception within the Beacon Room or alternatively, a marquee for a seated wedding breakfast .If you are planning for up to 300 guests to attend your wedding then a marquee will be required, with Castle House providing the unique reception rooms for guests' arrival and for indoor evening dancing. We can introduce you to our approved supplier of marquees, who is familiar with this venue.
Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Should you wish to hold your civil marriage and reception at Castle House, for up to 60 guests the ceremony is held in the Beacon Room, with drinks then served in either the garden (weather depending) or the Reception Foyer, to allow the Beacon Room to be re-dressed for the wedding breakfast.
For between 60 to 100 guests the ceremony again takes place in the Beacon Room and the reception is either held in a marquee for a sit-down meal or the Beacon Room for a standing buffet.
